Homework
Students will often have weekly homework in Reading, Spelling, and Math. Homework will come home in the yellow nightly folder. The recommended amount of time a first grader should spend on homework each day is 30 minutes. This includes independent reading, practicing spelling words, completing the math and reading comprehension sheet sent home each Monday (due back Friday). Homework is not intended as “busy work” but rather an extention of what is learned in class. Homework will not be given on Wednesday and Friday nights. Please return homework by the end of each week.
